How to become a PALS Volunteer

There are many ways to join the growing PALS family. Read about the following volunteer activities and put a check mark beside those options that interest you. Send the information requested below to us and we will get back in touch with you. These are opportunities to develop your own human potential, while giving to others.

Join a Personal Support Network - Experience the wonder of spending time with a “pal” with special needs while becoming a member of a team of Network members. Share your own interests or get interested in a new activity. It could be anything from going bowling, to walking in the park, to going swimming or eating at McDonalds. Or you might be just the right person to help with an advocacy issue such as housing or health care. You can make a commitment for a couple of hours a week or once a month. We do ask for consistency, once you make a commitment.

Join a PALS, Inc. Committee or Task Force - PALS, Inc has several standing committees: Finance, Fundraising, membership, Family support and Network Supervision. We are constantly looking for new volunteers to inject new energy into the PALS organization. Perhaps as you read this web page, you have some ideas on how to revise and improve it; come join our Media Task Force. Let’s talk about that or any other suggestions you may have. If you have experience with public relations, fundraising, organizational development, advocacy, housing, guardianships, wills and trusts or other relevant problem solving skills, think about using them to help strengthen PALS, Inc.

Join our Board of Directors - After you have volunteered for awhile, you may be asked to serve on our Board of Directors. Every June new members and officers are elected to serve on the PALS, Inc. Board of Directors. Our Nominating Committee is always looking for people interested in joining our Board.

Or, how else would you like to volunteer?
